Please review these terms carefully before your stay. By booking a room at Empress Suites, you agree to adhere to these policies, including check-in/out times, payment requirements, and guest responsibilities while on the premises.
Our hotel operates a self check-in system. You will receive unique door access codes via email and SMS after booking is confirmed. These codes are valid only for your stay window and will automatically expire at checkout time.

1. What time is check-in?
Check-in is from 2:00pm, using our self-check-in system.
2. What time is check-out?
Check-out is by 11:00am. At this time, your room PIN code will automatically expire, and the door will lock.
3. How do I access the hotel lobby?
Upon booking, you’ll receive a unique PIN code by email and SMS. This PIN grants entry to the Empress Building lobby.
4. How do I use my Empress Suites self check-in door lock?
Step 1 — Unlocking Your Room
- Touch the lock’s screen to wake it.
- Enter your PIN code, then press #.
- You’ll hear a click — the door is now unlocked.
- Push the handle down to enter your room.
Step 2 — Locking the Door When Leaving
- Close the door firmly.
- Lift the handle upwards.
- You’ll hear the deadlock engage — your room is now fully secured.
Additional Access
Use the same PIN code to access the restaurant bar. Quick, simple, secure. Enjoy your stay at the Empress Suites.
5. Is breakfast included?
A continental breakfast delivered directly to your room can be added as an optional extra when booking. A cooked breakfast is being considered for the future.
6. Is parking available?
Yes — there is ample free parking around the Empress Building.
7. Are pets allowed?
Sorry — pets are not permitted in the rooms.
8. Are children welcome?
Yes — families and children are very welcome. We offer single bed options suitable for children.
9. Do you offer a baby cot?
Yes — we provide a baby cot. You can add this during checkout under Add-Ons when booking your room.
10. Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes — complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is provided throughout the building.
11. Can I request a cooked breakfast?
Not at the moment. However, the high street has several excellent cafés serving full English breakfasts.
12. What is your cancellation policy?
You may amend the date of your booking up to 48 hours before arrival. Please note cancellations and refunds are not part of our booking policy.
13. What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. A valid card is required to guarantee your reservation.
14. Do you have accessible rooms or disabled facilities?
Due to the historic nature of the building, we do not have lifts or wheelchair-accessible facilities. Unfortunately, Empress Suites is not suitable for wheelchair users.
15. Can I request early check-in or late check-out?
Early check-ins and late check-outs may be possible depending on availability. Additional charges may apply.
16. How close are cafés, restaurants, and shops?
The high street is only a few minutes’ walk from the entrance, with a variety of cafés, restaurants, and shops.
17. What if I arrive late at night?
No problem — our rooms offer 24-hour self check-in.
18. Do you provide luggage storage?
No — we do not offer luggage storage. We recommend leaving items securely in your vehicle.
19. Can you recommend a local taxi service?
Uber is widely available. Alternatively, if you’re in Goa Spice bar, the team can book a taxi for you.
20. Do you offer room service?
Yes — the Goa Spice Restaurant offers room service from 5:30pm to 10:00pm.
21. Is smoking permitted?
No — all rooms and indoor areas are strictly non-smoking and non-vaping. A cleaning fee may be charged if smoking occurs inside.
